Cinco de Chicken

Looks like the Bloggess has another update on the chickens in her life. I love that she is surprised by local sales!!

Pollo Quatro, or What's in a name?

So there I am with my awesome new chicken.
I'm pretty sure I have THE best hubby EVER.

In case you couldn't read it, here's the sign that was around her neck. Quite a few 'inside' references here. 'put a ring on it' refers to Beyonce's song, and the fact that we LOVE the Kurt/football episode on Glee. Awesome.
We've called each other dummy ever since (30 rock) Tina's loser boyfriend called her that. Just cracks us up. I know, weird. Thank God we found each other!

...and here it sat, staring at us through the window. Made me laugh everytime I saw it.

Suddenly it was gone.
Brad had taken it for priming and sanding. He really wanted me to 'work my magic' on it and make it unique. Duh! No problem!!

So, I want it loud, obnoxious, crazy! (a subtle giant metal chicken? No.)

Beyonce!?! Genius of a name, but I just don't want to copy, where's the fun in that?

I have since named he/she/it Cee Lo Van Gogh. Genius, I hope. I already planned to incorporate some Starry Night on the feathers...and Cee Lo, well, hello, that gives me permission to dress it in just about anything!! Good grief, I googled some pictures of him just in case you don't know of him. I'm pretty sure he's been waiting for this honor!!

Perfect. Good thing Cee Lo Van Gogh got a metallic red mohawk first!

Then, metallic blue wings and tail...

...and the last step so far was a metallic purple body. Next up, gold beak and legs/feet, silver head. Then patterns on everything. And jewelry. And hopefully a tattoo that reads...

Too fun. Now that we got a break from our heat wave, I'm back to working on it. To be continued!

3rd verse, giant metal chickens!

So, by now, my friends and I are laughing hysterically, and the blogess' post has gone viral on Facebook. And I want that chicken.
We are doing chores around the house, and Brad asks me to come out front. I remember that we have a broken sprinkler head and he's been gone running errands. So I deduce that I will be helping him find which sprinklerhead is broken. Watch the video below to see what happened next!

Giant metal chickens, part deux

So, that was June 28. By the 30th, I had already combed the aisles of home goods for my very own giant metal chicken. They were gone. Obviously, it's because everyone wants one now.
They did, however, have some 2 footers; but that doesn't sound like much fun, when your victim friend can just move it off their porch. IF they even see it when they open the door. So I debate making one. Some friends even offer to help. It's important, a necessity! Where is my Beyonce?

Meanwhile, the blogess has an update to HER story, so awesome...must read!
